Coordinating Minister Djamari Chaniago Asserts Prabowo's Commitment to Eradicating Corruption

Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Djamari Chaniago has emphasised that the administration under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto is committed to comprehensively addressing corrupt practices. The retired military officer assured that every legal violation will be processed according to the rules without discrimination. Djamari acknowledged that corruption has been a long-standing challenge for the nation. However, he stated that the government is committed to reform, enforcement, and cleansing. “There is no room for anyone proven to have violated the law. Regardless of their institutional origin or position, every violation will be processed and dealt with firmly in accordance with applicable legal provisions,” Djamari said in a written statement on Sunday, 12 July 2026. Responding to heightened public attention on recent corruption revelations, Djamari urged the public to view the phenomenon wisely and proportionally. He argued that the large number of cases being uncovered does not mean corrupt practices are increasing, but rather serves as an indicator of the state’s strong commitment to cleaning up governance. Furthermore, Djamari conveyed that the government fully supports the ongoing legal enforcement process. He stressed that every case is handled professionally, independently, transparently, and in accordance with statutory regulations. He also confirmed that synergy among law enforcement agencies is continuously strengthened to ensure the anti-corruption agenda is effective. Djamari stated that the goal of the Indonesian National Police, the Attorney General’s Office, and other law enforcement institutions is to uphold the law fairly, including in eradicating corruption for the benefit of the nation and state. According to him, the duties and authorities of each law enforcement institution are already regulated by law. Therefore, synergy and coordination must be continuously strengthened so that common goals can be achieved more effectively. “What we continue to maintain is synergy and coordination between agencies. Communication must be continuously built to prevent potential misunderstandings,” he said.
