Jakarta, VIVA – Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar, commonly known as Cak Imin, has issued a stern warning to the newly inaugurated directors of BPJS Kesehatan (Health) and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (Employment).

He reminded them that operational budgets must be managed properly and with full accountability, highlighting the Rp5 trillion allocated annually for BPJS operations.

The remarks were delivered after Cak Imin inaugurated Prihati Pujowaskito as Director General of BPJS Kesehatan and Saiful Hidayat as Director General of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.

“Every year we allocate a budget supporting BPJS operations of more than Rp5 trillion. Every rupiah is a trust that must be safeguarded with full responsibility,” said Cak Imin at the Coordinating Ministry for Community Empowerment office in Central Jakarta on Friday, 20 February 2026.

Cak Imin instructed all new leaders and directors of BPJS Kesehatan and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan to manage budgets efficiently in accordance with prevailing regulations.

“Therefore, the new leadership, directors, and supervisory boards must continuously control operational costs efficiently and implement them with discipline within the regulatory framework,” he said.

“There must be no more wasteful spending or ceremonial events. Risk management governance must be professional and transparent. Investment strategies must prioritise the principle of prudence whilst maximising benefits,” he added.

Furthermore, Cak Imin also urged all leaders and directors to strengthen oversight of potential fraud.

“This includes the emergence of fictitious claims, service manipulation, and membership abuse. We must not merely pursue expansion without safeguarding the integrity and sustainability of the system. Public trust is the primary foundation of our social security. Without trust, no matter how large the system, it will collapse,” he concluded.
