Coordinating Minister Airlangga: WFH Policy for Civil Servants Extended for Two More Months

Jakarta – The Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, said that the work-from-home (WFH) policy for civil servants (ASN) and the private sector would be extended for a further two months, as the global geopolitical situation remained volatile. ‘As long as the war has not ended, we will continue the work-from-home arrangement for the next two months,’ Airlangga said after a meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Istana complex in Jakarta on Thursday (21 May 2026). In addition to Airlangga, other attendees included Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiwo, and Trade Minister Budi Santoso. ‘We discussed various policies to be taken, including a package of measures related to the economy going forward under the current circumstances,’ he said. The WFH policy is to be implemented every Friday for civil servants in the health and security sectors. It is hoped that this policy will save fuel in light of the ongoing Middle East conflict.
