Coordinating Minister for the Economy and National SEZ Council Chairman Airlangga Hartarto, Investment Minister/Head of BKPM and BPI Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani, and BPI Danantara COO Dony Oskaria, conducted a strategic visit to the prestigious Sira Village - Grand Outlet Bali project in the Kura-Kura Special Economic Zone, on Friday (1/5). This project is more than just a shopping centre; it is the result of a giant collaboration between PT Bali Turtle Island Development (BTID) and Mitsubishi Estate. With the concept of the first open-air luxury outlet on the Island of the Gods, scheduled for a soft opening in the middle of this year, the presence of an investor of Mitsubishi Estate’s calibre serves as concrete proof of the world’s confidence in the long-term potential of the Kura-Kura Bali SEZ. The visit by these ministers represents a concrete step in executing President Prabowo Subianto’s directive to transform Bali into a Special Financial Centre. Adopting the success of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), this ambitious project is designed as a new magnet for global investment flows to pour into Indonesia. Amid changes in the global geopolitical landscape, Bali is increasingly relevant as a destination for international capital seeking stability and legal certainty. During the visit, Coordinating Minister Airlangga Hartarto directly inspected the readiness of the Kura-Kura Bali SEZ as one of the potential areas for the location of that special financial centre. “So, what can (the) Kura-Kura Bali SEZ offer for the IFC location? Later, it should be discussed directly with Danantara,” stated Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto.
