Coordinating Minister Airlangga and BI Governor Visit Palace Amid Rupiah Depreciation Concerns

JAKARTA — Several economic ministers within President Prabowo Subianto’s administration visited the Palace Complex in Jakarta on Monday (18/06/2026).

Observations showed that starting from 15:32 WIB, several ministers arrived, including the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto; the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming, Rosan Roeslani; the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia; and the Minister of Finance, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa.

In addition to the ministers, the Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI), Perry Warjiyo, also arrived at the Palace.

“We will see the agenda later,” Airlangga stated upon his arrival.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Bank Indonesia declined to comment when arriving at the Palace. When questioned regarding the current situation of the US Dollar, he merely smiled while walking into the Palace complex.

This limited meeting is being held amidst the weakening of the US Dollar exchange rate, as the Rupiah depreciated by 1.17 per cent compared to the previous trading session.
