Coordinating Minister AHY: President Resolute in Commitment to Deliver Quality Housing

Jakarta — Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) has stated that President Prabowo Subianto is resolute and possesses a strong commitment to delivering quality housing to the public through a three-million-house development programme.

“The President is steadfast in his commitment and has from the outset believed that a healthy family begins with a good home, and an empowered society stems from a prosperous dwelling,” said Coordinating Minister AHY at the launch of the housing development programme in support of the three-million-house initiative on land belonging to PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) at Manggarai Station, Jakarta, on Monday.

AHY stated that the launch of the national housing development programme represents an important milestone in realising the government’s grand vision of delivering quality housing to the Indonesian people.

He conveyed that the strategic programme forms part of President Prabowo’s commitment, premised on the belief that healthy families begin with good homes and empowered communities arise from prosperous housing.

The programme is also directed towards broadening access for pre-prosperous communities and low-income citizens to adequate and affordable housing in various regions throughout Indonesia.

“This includes ensuring quality, as there remain quite a number of Indonesian families living in homes that are substandard or unfit for habitation,” he stated.

Accordingly, Coordinating Minister AHY extended his appreciation to various stakeholders who have provided support for the implementation of the national housing development programme, including PT KAI.
