Coordinating Minister AHY Holds Easter Social Service at Santo Andreas Church in West Jakarta

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister (Menko) for Infrastructure and Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, alias AHY, held an Easter social service (baksos) at Santo Andreas Church in Kedoya, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta (Jakbar), on Sunday. During the event, AHY distributed staple food packages to hundreds of congregants worshipping at Santo Andreas Church. “The spirit of today’s activity is certainly still related to the presence of Democrats to continue being part of the solution and also to alleviate the needs of the community. We know that there are groups that economically still continue to need our attention,” said AHY to reporters at Santo Andreas Church, West Jakarta, on Sunday. According to him, social assistance in the form of staple food packages is a practical example of that attention. “So, social assistance in the form of staple foods or other basic needs I think is also something good,” stated AHY. Regarding the funding for the social service activity, he said one source came from the auction of a painting by his father, the 6th President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. “He was a painter, who also at that time had the spirit of auctioning a painting ‘Kuda Api’, because coincidentally in 2026 his zodiac is the fire horse. Well, it was auctioned, and the proceeds from the auction are entirely for social activities, humanitarian activities, including the assistance carried out today,” explained AHY. On that occasion, he also conveyed his commitment, particularly related to development. He assessed that infrastructure development must truly touch people’s lives directly, especially infrastructure that can improve welfare, drive economic growth in various regions, and reduce poverty and inequality. “Of course, it can support the presence of resilience and self-sufficiency in food, energy, and water, which are once again very fundamental, including in the education and health sectors,” revealed AHY.
