Coordinating Minister AHY and Transmigration Minister Attend Lunar New Year Celebration in Batam

BATAM — The Lunar New Year 2577 celebration in Batam was marked by the attendance of prominent national figures. Batam Mayor Amsakar Achmad, accompanied by Deputy Mayor Li Claudia Chandra, warmly welcomed the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), and Transmigration Minister Muhammad Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara at the Swiss-Belhotel Harbour Bay on Monday (16/02/2026).

The presence of two cabinet ministers sent a strong signal that Batam is a strategic region capable of maintaining social stability amid its diversity. The event was also attended by Riau Islands Provincial Police Chief Inspector General Asep Safrudin and Anambas Islands Regent Aneng.

In his address, Batam Mayor Amsakar Achmad affirmed that Batam is a real portrait of harmonious diversity in Indonesia. He said Batam’s vision as a Bandar Dunia Madani (Civilised World Port) has been implemented in the daily lives of its heterogeneous community.
