Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono has expressed support for the development of national electric motorcycles as part of efforts to strengthen the grassroots economy and domestic industrial self-sufficiency. He conveyed this during the GenCoopRun event, part of the 2026 National Cooperatives Day commemoration, held during the car-free day on Jalan HR Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, on Sunday. Ferry inspected the MIMO multipurpose electric motorcycle, which was developed by a team of local engineers and designed specifically for Indonesian road conditions, riders, and livelihoods. He assessed that the presence of the MIMO product aligns with the spirit of economic independence that is central to the cooperative movement. ‘A national electric motorcycle like this is proof that our nation’s children can answer the needs of their own people. If the innovation is born domestically, then the added value must also be enjoyed by our people. This is where cooperatives can play a role, as a vehicle to ensure the transition to electric vehicles,’ he stated in a press release.
