Cooperative's chief killers hunted
JAKARTA (JP): Police yesterday were still hunting for four men who shot dead and robbed a cooperative chairman of Rp 11 million (US$4,563) in Bekasi, West Java.
Bekasi Police Chief Lt. Col. Alex Bambang Riatmodjo, said police have identified four suspects who shot Sutadi Seno in a rice stall on Tuesday.
"We are still investigating the case," Alex said.
He said two of the four men approached the cooperative cashier, Ati Yuniani, who was about to pay electricity bills of the cooperative members at a counter near the stall.
Sutadi tried to help his secretary as he saw the two men grabbing the money from her, he said.
Alex said one of the two men pointed a gun to Sutadi and shot the victim. "Sutadi died with three shot wounds in the head and body."
The men escaped in two motorcycles, he said.
According to Alex the suspects had observed the cooperative prior to the crime.
"Two of the men had come to the cooperative and chatted with the cashier about two days prior to the robbery," he said. (jun/04)
