Cooperative Minister Ready to Strengthen Cooperatives to Realise Pancasila Economy

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Minister of Cooperatives, Ferry Juliantono, has stated his readiness to strengthen cooperatives as the primary pillar in realising the Pancasila Economy, as emphasised by President Prabowo Subianto during the 2026 Pancasila Birth Anniversary commemoration.

Ferry stated that the President’s directive regarding the strengthening of cooperatives serves as a vital mandate for the Ministry of Cooperatives to drive an economic transformation that is more oriented towards the people.

“What President Prabowo has conveyed is both an ideological and operational mandate for us. The Ministry of Cooperatives is ready to translate those instructions into field action,” Ferry said, as quoted from an official statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He explained that one of the concrete steps to be accelerated is the Red and White Village/Sub-district Cooperative (KDKMP) programme, an effort to strengthen the economy from the grassroots level. According to him, the programme is expected to transform villages into new centres of economic growth while simultaneously bolstering the economic resilience of the community.

“Through the KDKMP programme, we will strengthen the economic foundation from the grassroots, ensure villages become new growth centres, and establish cooperatives as the primary fortress of the citizens’ economic defence,” he said.

During the 2026 Pancasila Birth Anniversary on Monday (1/6), President Prabowo Subianto emphasised the importance of grounding the Pancasila Economy and reviving the role of cooperatives as a primary instrument for poverty alleviation. The President also highlighted that economic growth over recent decades has not been fully equitable or fairly enjoyed by all segments of society.

Furthermore, he stressed that strengthening cooperatives is a mandate of the 1945 Constitution, Article 33, which positions the economy as a collective endeavour based on the principle of kinship. Through the momentum of the Pancasila Birth Anniversary, President Prabowo has called upon all elements of the nation to use Pancasila as a guide in building a more just, prosperous, and sovereign Indonesia. According to the President, the Pancasila Economy is not merely a concept, but a pathway to ensure the nation’s wealth truly serves as a source of welfare for all Indonesian people.
