Convicted of Defaming Hotman Paris, Razman Nasution Imprisoned at Cipinang Prison

Convicted defamation offender Razman Arif Nasution has been officially detained at the Class I Correctional Facility in Cipinang, East Jakarta. The execution of his detention follows a legally binding court ruling.

The head of Cipinang Class I Prison, Syarpani, confirmed the admission was based on an official letter from the North Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office regarding the execution of the final and binding court decision. The admission process took place on Thursday at approximately 4:20 p.m. Western Indonesian Time.

Nasution was found guilty of violating Article 27 paragraph (3) in conjunction with Article 45 paragraph (3) of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions. Based on the legally binding verdict, he was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison. In addition to the prison term, the convict was also fined Rp200 million, with a stipulation that if the fine is not paid, it will be replaced by an additional four months of confinement as a subsidiary penalty.

Syarpani assured that the entire admission process was conducted in accordance with applicable standard operating procedures. After being received, the convict underwent administrative stages, identity verification, and health checks.
