Controversy in 4 Pillars Quiz Competition: When Correct Answers Are Deemed Wrong, MPR Acknowledges Jury's Negligence

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The controversy over the judging in the Final Quiz Competition (LCC) on the Four Pillars of the MPR RI 2026 at the West Kalimantan (Kalbar) provincial level has led to a comprehensive evaluation and an apology from MPR RI leadership. The controversy began during the final LCC on the Four Pillars held in Pontianak on Saturday (9/5/2026). The event was participated in by nine senior high schools in Kalbar. The three schools that advanced to the final round were SMAN 1 Pontianak, SMAN 1 Sambas, and SMAN 1 Sanggau. The issue arose during the buzzer round with the question: In selecting BPK members, the DPR is required to consider input from which institution? The jury then declared Team B’s answer correct. “The core of the answer is already correct. Score ten,” said the jury. This decision was immediately protested by Team C, who felt they had given the same answer. “Excuse me, we answered the same as Team B earlier,” said a participant from Team C. The jury then explained that Team C was considered not to have mentioned the element of ‘DPD consideration’. However, Team C refuted that explanation and even asked the audience to provide testimony. Nevertheless, the final competition results remained unchanged.
