Contraflow Opened at KM 47 on Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road

Jasamarga opened a contraflow lane at Kilometre 47 of the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road at 11:54 WIB. Vice President of Corporate Secretary and Legal at PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT), Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated that this step was taken to ease the increasingly dense volume of vehicles heading east.

“Previously, the contraflow started from Kilometre 55 to Kilometre 65 at 11:05 WIB,” she said in a written statement on Saturday, 21 March 2026.

Based on CCTV monitoring from the Travoy application owned by PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, on the first day of Eid, traffic flow was seen crowding the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road area. Vehicles also crowded the Mohamed Bin Zayed (MBZ) toll road heading east.

On the non-elevated toll road and MBZ, vehicle speeds slowed approaching the Karawang Barat Toll Gate. This density still occurred along the toll road sections where contraflow was implemented.

“JTT continues to coordinate intensively with the police and related agencies in managing traffic to maintain the smoothness and safety of road users’ journeys,” said Ria Marlinda.

This contraflow is implemented situationally, adjusted to the volume of passing vehicles. Jasamarga has applied this method several days before Eid and will do the same during the return flow of the homecoming.

Jasamarga advises all road users to always obey traffic signs and instructions from on-site officers, as well as ensure sufficient balance on electronic money cards before travelling. Users are expected to plan their journeys and maintain vehicle conditions to arrive safely at their destinations.
