JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) and the police have officially discontinued the contraflow traffic arrangement on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road on Friday afternoon, in line with the vehicle flow beginning to normalise during the Good Friday holiday period. Vice President of Corporate Secretary & Legal at PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated that the contraflow was halted after monitoring results indicated that traffic was gradually smoothing out. The traffic arrangement had previously been implemented from KM 47 to KM 66 towards Cikampek since 09:18 WIB and was then discontinued at 13:27 WIB. She explained that the normalisation of traffic flow resulted from intensive on-site monitoring and periodic evaluations between JTT and the police. According to her, as the volume of vehicles began to distribute well, the traffic arrangement was no longer needed, allowing the flow to operate normally for the comfort of road users. Ria also emphasised that the implementation and discontinuation of the contraflow were at the discretion of the police, taking into account the current field conditions. JTT advises road users to continue prioritising safety during their journeys, including maintaining safe distances, complying with traffic signs, and following instructions from officers. Additionally, drivers are asked to ensure that their e-money balances are sufficient and that their vehicles are in optimal condition before travelling on the Trans Java Toll Road.
