PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) together with the Police implemented a contraflow scheme on KM 47-KM 65 of the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) Toll Road section on the second day of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H, Sunday (22/3). Previously, contraflow was applied starting from KM 55. However, at 10.05 WIB, the contraflow entry access at KM 55 was temporarily closed and redirected through KM 47 to KM 65. “The implementation of opening and closing contraflow access is carried out situationally, taking into account aspects of safety, road capacity, and the effectiveness of dispersing traffic density,” said VP Corporate Secretary and Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, in an official statement. “This step is expected to maintain the smooth travel of road users, especially at points with high vehicle volumes,” she added. Ria stated that JTT together with the police and related stakeholders continues to conduct periodic monitoring and evaluation of traffic conditions to ensure that the applied engineering runs optimally. “JTT urges all road users to pay attention to signs and directions from officers in the field, as well as to adjust speeds when passing through contraflow lanes,” said Ria. Previously, the Head of the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Polri, Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho, said that today is predicted to be the peak of local mudik density. “In fact, tomorrow [Sunday] will be dense with that agglomeration. So, local mudik from Solo to Semarang, Semarang to Solo, from Bogor to Bekasi, we are anticipating that,” said Agus at the Command Center Post KM 29 Cikampek Toll Road, Bekasi Regency, West Java, Saturday (21/3).
