A contract teacher at SDN Brabe 1, Probolinggo, East Java, Muhammad Misbahul Huda (MMH), who was previously named a suspect for holding dual positions and receiving a salary as a Village Community Assistant (PLD), has reportedly refunded hundreds of millions of rupiah in wages. His case has been discontinued.

The Assistant for Special Crimes (Aspidsus) at the East Java High Prosecutor’s Office, Wagiyo, stated that Misbahul, who had previously been designated as a suspect, was released due to suspended detention on Friday 20 February.

“Subsequently, the suspect’s detention was suspended on Friday,” Wagiyo said during a press conference at the East Java High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati Jatim) on Wednesday 25 May.

Further, on Monday 23 February, Misbahul refunded state losses resulting from his dual position practice over approximately five years totalling 118 million rupiah.

“The individual concerned refunded the amount or value of losses obtained over this period of approximately 118,861,000 rupiah,” he stated.

Subsequently, according to Wagiyo, because the matter received public attention, the East Java High Prosecutor’s Office took over the case. Based on the results of a case review conducted that day, the case was discontinued.

“Therefore, the Head of the East Java High Prosecutor’s Office has ordered that this be taken over, with the takeover made by the Deputy Chief Prosecutor. The Deputy Chief Prosecutor then ordered the Probolinggo District Prosecutor to discontinue proceedings in this case in the interest of law and justice,” he concluded.
