Contraceptives hard to come by

CILACAP, Central Java: Soaring prices and dwindling supplies mean 600,000 people may lose their access to contraceptives, according to the head of the provincial family planning board, Djoko Rusmoro.

He said on Friday that contraceptives were becoming hard to find amid soaring prices. Implants are still imported from the United States.

He said his staff suspected many people could no longer afford to buy contraceptives and free distribution was limited in number. He feared the family planning program in the province might fail. (45)
