The Chairman of Commission C of the Central Java Provincial DPRD, Bambang Hariyanto, has called on the Central Java Provincial Government to immediately evaluate PT Pusat Rekreasi dan Promosi Pembangunan (PRPP), which continues to suffer losses. PT PRPP is a regionally-owned enterprise (BUMD) belonging to the Central Java Provincial Government.

Bambang revealed that the DPRD and the Central Java Provincial Government recently held a meeting on the accountability of the 2025 fiscal year Regional Budget (APBD). The issue of PT PRPP was also discussed during the meeting.

“So far, because PRPP has experienced cumulative losses and depreciation, it has not been able to provide dividends, even though it has started to turn a profit,” Bambang said during an interview on Tuesday (7/7/2026).

Bambang admitted he had heard the statement from the Governor of Central Java, Ahmad Luthfi, who threatened to close down BUMDs that continue to incur losses. However, he reminded the provincial government that it has a working unit, namely the BUMD Bureau and the Regional Public Service Agency (BLUD).

According to Bambang, one of the tasks of the BUMD and BLUD Bureau is to evaluate the performance of BUMDs every three months or quarterly. “Well, the commission recently pushed for this to be truly optimised, especially the scrutiny of PRPP,” he said.

“So evaluate it immediately. If that is indeed the situation, then make the best decision right away,” Bambang added.

He admitted that he had not yet checked the data on how long PT PRPP has been suffering losses. “What is clear is that it cannot provide a contribution,” he stated.
