Continuing the Tradition at KSP, Qodari to Hold Weekly Press Conferences on Priority Programme Achievements

Jakarta - The Head of the Indonesian Government Communication Agency (Bakom), Muhammad Qodari, has stated that he will hold weekly press conferences as one of his work programmes. He mentioned that this weekly press conference programme is a continuation from his previous role as Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP). “I spoke with Mr Dudung (the new Head of KSP) yesterday; there is no specific task to assist with communication. Therefore, I humbly request to bring the weekly press conference programme to Bakom,” Qodari said during the Satu Meja The Forum on Kompas TV on Wednesday night (29/4/2026). The first coordination effort is communication with ministries and agencies under President Prabowo Subianto’s leadership to avoid appearing to contradict one another. “I’m still studying the details over the past one or two days; I already have a general idea,” he said. Secondly, it involves communicating the achievements of priority work programmes to the public through weekly press conferences. In the same forum, Professor of Political Communication at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Gun Gun Heryanto, suggested that Bakom RI should promptly reorganise the overall institutional communication governance. “Bakom could conduct a consolidation of all ministries, including the ministers, in my opinion, within a solid institutional communication governance framework that we term as an institutional communication protocol,” Gun Gun stated.
