Conti to set up RI plant

HANOVER, Germany (Reuter): German tire maker Continental AG
said it had signed a cooperation deal with Indonesian PT Oroban
Perkasa Ltd.

Conti said in a statement PT Oroban would manufacture tires
for it under license for the Indonesian market.

PT Oroban is part of the Starsurya group and had a capacity of
1.1 million tires a year, a number it plans to double in the near
future.

The statement said PT Oroban's marketing and distribution
network would be linked with that of Conti internationally.
