Contest for Indonesian Chinese

JAKARTA: For the first time ever, Indonesian Chinese people
will have the chance to join a beauty contest organized
especially for them by the West Jakarta mayoralty office in
celebration of the next Chinese New Year.

The so-called Cici (Miss) and Koko (Mr.) West Jakarta contest
will take place from Feb. 10 to Feb. 25, according to the
organizer, Ernawati Sugondo.

The contest was also open to Indonesian Chinese contestants
from outside West Jakarta, she added.

West Jakarta Mayor Sarimun Hadisaputra said the event was
expected to attract foreign investors. --JP
