The case of the death of Dr. Eliza Princila Utami Pakaenoni, familiarly known as Dr. Icha, continues to attract public attention. The 28-year-old doctor, who served at Leona Hospital in Kefamenanu, North Central Timor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, was found dead at her residence in the Baumata RSS Housing Complex, Kupang Regency, on Friday, 26 June 2026, at around 17:50 Central Indonesian Time. The incident has not only left deep sorrow for the family but has also raised suspicions that the deceased experienced severe psychological pressure before her final breath. These suspicions strengthened after the family revealed the existence of a handwritten will by Dr. Icha. During the crime scene investigation, police discovered a blue nylon rope approximately two metres long and a letter believed to be the victim’s final message. The letter is now secured by investigators as evidence for the inquiry. The victim’s uncle, Fabianus Banase, stated that the family has not yet learned the full contents of the letter because it was immediately confiscated by the police along with two mobile phones belonging to the deceased. Fabianus recounted that his niece had previously expressed her willingness to become a sacrifice so that similar incidents would not befall other doctors or medical personnel. According to the family, the trauma experienced by Dr. Icha originated from an incident while she was on duty in the Emergency Department of Leona Hospital in Kefamenanu, where she treated a child patient who was a snakebite victim according to medical procedures and the instructions of a specialist doctor.
