Content Creator Could Become Primary Income Source in Digital Era, Jakarta Official Says
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The DKI Jakarta Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Agency (Diskominfotik) believes that content creators have a major opportunity to turn their work into a primary source of income in the digital era.
“Content is not just about creating, but also generating income. For example, successful content creators have made this their main source of income, building a portfolio, a career, or becoming entrepreneurs,” said Syali Gestanon, Head of Public Information at Diskominfotik DKI Jakarta, during the opening of a ‘Bootcamp Content Creator’ event in Central Jakarta on Thursday.
He noted that the profession is no longer merely a hobby or a way to pass the time. If pursued seriously, it can open various economic opportunities.
Syali assessed that the digital creator industry will continue to grow, as the public’s need for information and entertainment on digital platforms never ceases. “Remember, the market for content creators will never run out,” he said.
He added that every post has the potential to reach a wide audience. However, he reminded participants that a creator’s success is not solely determined by the number of followers or viral content.
The sustainability of the profession, he explained, is actually determined by the quality of the message conveyed to the public. He advised that the content creation process must start with a well-thought-out idea, followed by production and distribution, ensuring the message is truly understood and provides benefits to the audience.
“The most important thing is not just going viral, but whether the message is understood, whether the audience gains benefits, and the quality of that message is what determines a content creator’s sustainability,” Syali concluded.
