Content Creator Cellos Reports TikToker for Pirating BYON Combat, Case Resolved Through Restorative Justice
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - TikTok content creator Cellos reported the TikTok account @bambangmosaja to the Jakarta Metropolitan Police for allegedly illegally rebroadcasting live streams of BYON Combat Volume 5, which was aired on Vidio.
BYON Combat is a promoter of entertainment-based combat sports, initiated by Cellos.
The report filed by Cellos was received on 21 August 2025 and escalated to the investigation stage on 9 December 2025.
“BYON content is more than just entertainment. Behind it lies the investment, hard work, and professionalism of many parties. We are taking this legal step to send a clear message that piracy has real legal consequences,” said Cellos in a statement on Thursday (26/2/2026).
The accused, Bambang, has been questioned and admitted his wrongdoing. The case was then resolved through restorative justice on 30 January 2026.
Bambang stated his willingness to pay material and non-material compensation to Cellos and Vidio.
The Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Commissioner Pol Budi Hermanto, confirmed that Cellos’ report was resolved through restorative justice.
According to Budi, the restorative justice process was carried out after Bambang provided compensation for the losses.
“After the compensation for losses was provided, the restorative justice mechanism was implemented,” said Budi when confirmed by Kompas.com on Thursday.
