Content creator Andy Garcia impressed by Nightography and Horizontal Lock on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra

Samsung has equipped the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s camera with a range of new features, including a brighter Nightography and a Horizontal Lock function. The features have apparently become among the favourites of content creator Andy Garcia, who focuses on travel content and places importance on video quality. Nightography is a feature that makes it easier to capture photos or videos in the dark or low light. On the Galaxy S26 Ultra, this feature can capture more light, partly thanks to an upgraded camera aperture. In theory, the smaller the aperture value, the larger the lens opening, allowing more light to enter. The aperture on its 50 MP telephoto camera has also been increased to f/2.9 from the previous f/3.4. For Andy, the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s improved camera makes it easier to record videos both outdoors and indoors. “My favourite feature is Nightography. Because I am a video person and Nightography has improved, recording outdoors as well as indoors is safe and bright,” Andy told KompasTekno at the Galaxy Unpacked event. Andy also notes that this feature is useful for recording concert moments and for shoots at locations with minimal lighting. Another feature that impressed Andy is Horizontal Lock, a feature that keeps the subject relatively steady even if the filming experiences shakes and so on. “Horizontal Lock is also interesting because it can keep the horizontal in the middle. So no matter how wobbling the camera, it stays stable. In my view, the upgrade in the Galaxy S26 Ultra is ‘next level’,” Andy explained. According to the travel-loving man, Horizontal Lock is suitable for content with a lot of movement, such as running content. Moreover, the phone comes with several features not found on its predecessor, including Horizontal Lock, a virtual reflector to direct light, and the APV codec for professional video editing.
