Jakarta - Container traffic at IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) Area Jambi recorded significant growth in March 2026, in line with increased goods distribution activities ahead of Idul Fitri. Throughput volume rose 22.5 per cent compared to the same period last year. Based on operational data, container traffic at IPC TPK Area Jambi reached 2,775 TEUs in March 2026, up from 2,265 TEUs in March 2025. This spike reflects heightened logistics mobility in the Jambi region, both for domestic consumption needs and commodity distribution. This performance strengthening also aligns with the solid condition of Jambi Province’s foreign trade. In January 2026, Jambi’s export value was recorded at US$152.92 million, far surpassing imports of US$11.16 million, resulting in a significant trade surplus. Jambi’s export structure, dominated by the industrial sector and flagship commodities such as palm oil derivatives, rubber, and forestry products, further drives high logistics activity in the area. Wedhar Tani Aji, Operations Manager of IPC TPK Area Jambi, stated that this achievement is the result of the company’s consistency in maintaining service reliability. “This growth reflects our efforts to ensure reliable operations, accelerate loading and unloading services, and strengthen collaboration with all stakeholders,” he said in an official statement on Friday, 17 April 2026. Operationally, the increase in container traffic in March was driven by a surge in domestic container volumes. Cement commodity distribution experienced an increase in line with the massive infrastructure development in the Jambi region. In addition, shipments of staple needs such as rice, flour, as well as food and beverages also rose, in line with increased public demand ahead of Lebaran, or Idul Fitri. On the other hand, the import trend, dominated by machinery and industrial equipment, indicates ongoing production and construction activities. This contributes to the growing need for efficient and reliable logistics services. To maintain this momentum, IPC TPK Area Jambi continues to strengthen operational readiness through human resource competency enhancement as well as maintenance and optimisation of loading and unloading equipment. These steps are taken to ensure all terminal activities run smoothly, safely, and in accordance with service standards.
