Container Truck Strands Itself in Pramuka Underpass, East Jakarta, Traffic Jam

One container truck became stuck in the Pramuka underpass in East Jakarta. The truck could not move because its rear cargo box was snagged on the ceiling of the underpass. The incident also went viral on social media. In footage viewed by detikcom, the rear box of the truck appeared caught in the underpass, preventing the truck from advancing. The truck was on the left side of the road.

The Metro Jaya Police Traffic Management Centre (TMC Polda Metro Jaya) reported the incident on its X account. They evacuated the truck at 11:33 WIB. ‘Jakarta Timur Traffic Unit officers are coordinating and carrying out the eviction of the container truck wedged in the Pramuka underpass toward Matraman,’ said TMC Polda Metro in its X post on Saturday (7/3/2026).

A photo posted showed traffic had become markedly congested. Police were also seen at the scene to regulate the flow of traffic. ‘The traffic from the Pramuka direction toward Matraman was observed to be heavily congested,’ they stated.
