Container Truck Crushes Car in Karawang, Three Killed

Karawang — A container truck crushed a sedan car in Karawang, West Java, killing three people.

The fatal incident occurred on Jalan Raya Tanggul Rawagabus, Kondangjaya Village, Karawang Timur Subdistrict, Karawang Regency, on Sunday (15/2/2026) at approximately 20:00 local time.

Karawang Police Traffic Unit Head AKP Sudirianto confirmed the incident. He stated that a trailer with registration number B 9107 UEI crushed a Toyota sedan with registration number T 1275 KN.

“There were six victims in the accident, all of whom were passengers in the sedan that was crushed by the trailer,” said Sudir.

He explained that the evacuation of all victims took a considerable amount of time, approximately two and a half hours. This was due to the narrow road conditions and the victims being trapped in the severely damaged vehicle.

“Three people died — the driver, who was the father of the family, the mother, and a toddler who was on the mother’s lap,” Sudir disclosed.
