Bank Indonesia (BI) recorded the Consumer Confidence Index (IKK) at 117.8 in June 2026, down from 120.9 the previous month. Despite the decline, BI assessed that consumer confidence remains solid as the index stays above the 100-point optimistic level. “The maintained consumer confidence in June 2026 was supported by the Current Economic Conditions Index (IKE) and the Consumer Expectations Index (IEK), which remained in optimistic territory at 109.2 and 126.4 respectively, although lower than the previous month’s indices of 112.2 and 129.7,” said Ramdan Denny Prakoso, Executive Director of BI’s Communication Department, in a press release on Wednesday, 8 July 2026.

All components of the Current Economic Conditions Index (IKE) experienced a decline. The Current Income Index fell to 119.8 from 123.2 the previous month. The Job Availability Index dropped to 101.8 from 105. Meanwhile, the Durable Goods Purchases Index decreased to 105.9 from 108.3 the month prior. Similarly, all components of the Consumer Expectations Index (IEK) also declined. The Income Expectations Index fell to 133.6 from 136.5 the previous month. The Job Availability Expectations Index dropped to 124.4 from 128.1, and the Business Activity Expectations Index decreased to 121.2 from 124.5.

Responding to the decline in the June IKK, BI stated it continues to encourage sustainable economic growth through the development of MSMEs and the acceleration of credit distribution. Denny noted that the turnover of BI-assisted MSMEs reached Rp7.02 trillion, growing 23.1 per cent year-on-year. “Bank Indonesia is also accelerating credit distribution involving the government, relevant authorities, banks, and business actors. This effort is supported by the macroprudential liquidity incentive policy, which strengthens the intermediation function of banks and financing for the business sector,” Denny said. He added that this was reflected in bank credit growth of 11.51 per cent year-on-year in May 2026.
