Jakarta — Indonesia’s Consumer Confidence Index (IKK) declined slightly to 125.2 in February 2026, following a rise in the previous month, according to Bank Indonesia’s Communication Department Head Ramdan Denny Prakoso. The February IKK remains at an optimistic level, well above the 100 threshold benchmark.

The monthly decline was 1.8 points compared to January’s reading and lower than the February 2025 figure of 126.4. “The Bank Indonesia Consumer Survey for February 2026 indicates that consumer confidence in economic conditions remains strong,” Prakoso stated in an official announcement on Monday, 9 March 2026.

By expenditure group, the Rp 3.1–4 million (monthly spending) bracket posted the highest IKK gain, rising from 120.7 to 122.6. Conversely, the Rp 1–2 million expenditure group experienced the sharpest decline, falling from 118.8 to 113.3.

Analysis by age group revealed that nearly all cohorts saw IKK declines, with only the 51–60 year age group recording a rise, increasing from 112.4 to 118.8. The most significant drop occurred among the 41–50 year age group, which fell from 125.8 to 120.2.

The decline in overall consumer confidence coincided with a marginal increase in the Current Economic Conditions Index (IKE) to 115.9 from 115.1, whilst the Consumer Expectations Index (IEK) fell to 138.4 from 138.8.

The IKE rose modestly across all constituent components, particularly the Current Income Index (IPSI), which climbed to 125 from 123.7. The Durable Goods Purchasing Index (IPDG) also improved, rising from 111.8 to 112. Additionally, the Labour Availability Index (IKLK) increased to 110.7 from 109.9.

The IEK, however, declined across all its components. The Income Expectations Index (IEP) fell notably from 146 to 140.7, whilst the Labour Availability Expectations Index (IEKLK) dropped to 135.1 from 131.7. The Business Activity Expectations Index (IEKU) also declined from 135.3 to 130.9.
