Construction workers attacked by drunk youths after buying nasi goreng in Bogor

Several construction workers were assaulted by drunk youths in Gandoang Village, Cileungsi District, Bogor, West Java. The victims were attacked while returning from buying food. ‘The construction workers had just bought nasi goreng and were walking in a group when drunk youths were drinking alcohol,’ said Cileungsi Police Chief Kompol Edison on Wednesday (27 May 2026). The incident occurred in the early hours of Takbir night. The drunk youths confronted the construction workers passing by. ‘They were addressed because they were on a motorcycle, and the youths were drunk,’ he explained. The drunk youths then threw bottles at the passing construction workers. However, a misunderstanding led to two construction workers being detained by locals. ‘Yes, those detained were the construction workers who had bought nasi goreng and were stopped by the drunk youths,’ he added. Both were taken to the police station and detained. Mediation is currently ongoing between the parties involved. ‘Mediation is underway,’ he concluded.
