Construction Project for Platforms: Bogor Station Garden Converted into Passenger Access Road
BOGOR, KOMPAS.com - The garden area at Bogor Station, located on the right side from the direction of the tap-in/tap-out at the West Gate, has now been converted into an access road for electric rail (KRL) passengers, on Sunday (12/4/2026). This change is being carried out alongside the project to extend platforms 6, 7, and 8, as well as the KRL track lines. Kompas.com observations from the tap-in and tap-out access at the West Gate (Jalan Mayor Oking) towards the platform walkway showed several workers dismantling the iron fence in the garden area. The Head of Bogor Station, Mardiono, explained that the garden renovation is being done to alter the passenger flow due to the closure of several areas resulting from the construction of platforms 6 to 8. He stated that the garden area will later be used as a new access for passengers from the West Gate. “The change in passenger access flow is because some areas are closed. We are opening a new area that was previously a garden, converted into passenger access flow (from the West Gate),” said Mardiono when contacted by Kompas.com on Sunday (12/4/2026). In Kompas.com’s notes, KAI Commuter will also build a temporary rail crossing facility to facilitate passenger transfers from the southern side, specifically from Jalan Kapten Muslihat direction to platforms 1 to 5. In addition, the crossing at track 5 towards Bogor Paledang will be widened to improve comfort and safety for service users. It is known that Bogor Station is closing platforms 6 to 8 because it is carrying out track extension work for the railway. The closure of those tracks will take place from April to July 2026. Later, train operations will only apply to tracks 2 to 5. “There will be platform and track extension work for 6, 7, and 8 at Bogor Station. Therefore, those tracks must be closed,” said the Head of Bogor Station, Mardiono, to Kompas.com on Wednesday (8/4/2026). Passengers are urged to monitor train schedule developments through the official KAI Commuter Line social media pages.
