Construction of People's School in Central Bangka Awaits Central Government Confirmation
Koba, Babel, (ANTARA) - The Central Bangka Regency government in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province is still awaiting confirmation from the central government regarding the construction of the People’s School in the area. Central Bangka Regent Algafry Rahman stated in Koba on Friday that they have yet to receive the in-principle approval from the central government as the basis for implementing the programme. “We in the region are ready and have even begun preparing the land and compiling the Environmental Impact Analysis (AMDAL) documents,” Algafry said. He explained that this readiness is a form of the local government’s commitment to supporting the People’s School programme initiated by the central government. According to Algafry, one of the main requirements for constructing the People’s School is the availability of land and the AMDAL documents, which are currently being prepared by the local government. He added that, based on previous meetings, the construction of the People’s School is planned to commence this year. Nevertheless, the Central Bangka Regency government remains committed to following up on every stage that falls under regional authority. Various technical preparations continue to be carried out, including ensuring land readiness and completing supporting administrative documents. The local government is also continuously coordinating with relevant parties to accelerate processes that are part of regional responsibilities. Algafry emphasised that the construction of the People’s School is a strategic step in improving education quality in the area. The programme is expected to drive sustainable improvements in the Human Development Index (HDI) in Central Bangka Regency.
