The Coordinating Ministry (Kemenko) for Food Affairs reports that the construction of the control centre or National Command Centre (NCC) for the free nutritious meals programme is nearly complete. The national-scale command centre for the MBG project, which is claimed to unify data and accelerate decisions, has reached 80 percent completion.

“Up to now, it’s around 80 percent of the target. We still need to furnish the office requirements,” said Deputy for Coordination of Food Affordability and Security at the Coordinating Ministry for Food, Nani Hendiarti, when contacted on Saturday, 2 May 2026.

The National Command Centre is a technology-based control system for centrally and real-time monitoring of the programme. In the MBG project, the NCC is intended as a coordination hub across ministries.

Nani explained that the control centre will be equipped with fast internet networks and LED screens. These screens will display achievements and data from ministries and agencies, including the National Nutrition Agency, Ministry of Health, Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM), and Ministry of Agriculture.

In the future, the NCC will be located at the Coordinating Ministry for Food’s office in the Mandiri Building, Central Jakarta. The system will be used by the National Coordination Team consisting of 17 ministries and agencies. According to Nani, the goal is to unify coordination between central and regional governments.

“The purpose of building the NCC is also to enhance coordination and synergy between the central government, regional governments, and stakeholders,” she said.

In addition, Nani claimed that the creation of the MBG control centre does not require significant costs. She said the NCC only needs television screens from each ministry and agency as well as an internet network. “Also, renovation of a room of square metres equipped with standard desks, chairs, and office equipment.”

According to Nani, the NCC is important to build given the number of ministries and agencies involved in MBG governance, which reaches 28 institutions. The existence of a national dashboard, she said, is crucial as a basis for policy-making and governance improvements. This also aims to enhance the quality of food for beneficiaries.

In a separate opportunity when Nani was a speaker at an event of the Association of Entrepreneurs and Managers of Free Nutritious Meals Kitchens (APPMBGI) on Sunday, 27 April 2026, Nani stated that the government plans to inaugurate the National Command Centre for the MBG Programme in mid-May 2026. “So, the command centre will be for the implementation of the MBG programme across Indonesia at the Coordinating Ministry for Food. It’s planned, insha’Allah, to be launched on 17 May, around that date,” she said.
