PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) has stated that the construction progress of the multi-purpose space (extended concourse) and new entrances at Bundaran HI Bank Jakarta Station reached 23.52 per cent as of August 2026.

“The construction progress of the multi-purpose space (extended concourse) and new entrances at Bundaran HI Bank Jakarta Station has shown positive progress since it began in February 2026. As of August 2026, construction progress has reached 23.52 per cent,” said Rendy Primartantyo, Corporate Secretary Division Head of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda), in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday.

The development of the multi-purpose space and new entrances is part of the preparations for a potential increase in passenger numbers following the commencement of MRT Jakarta Phase 2A. This expansion also aims to expand underground circulation while unlocking the potential for interconnection with commercial areas.

Through this development, Bundaran HI Bank Jakarta Station will feature additional space of no less than 4,400 square metres, which can be utilised for retail, food and beverage (F&B), services, and partnership spaces according to customer needs.

In the planning phase, a multi-purpose space and three new entrances will be constructed, consisting of two entrances on the western side of the station and one entrance on the eastern side.

The two western entrances will be equipped with stairs and escalators, while the eastern entrance will feature an elevator leading to the pedestrian areas on both sides of Jalan M.H. Thamrin.

In addition to the multi-purpose space and new entrances, the development includes the construction of a cooling and ventilation tower. The entire project is targeted for completion by mid-2027.

This development aims to establish Bundaran HI Bank Jakarta Station as a transit-oriented development (TOD) hub, integrated with surrounding buildings, in accordance with the principles championed by PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda).

Located approximately 18 metres below ground level, Bundaran HI Bank Jakarta Station is one of the busiest stations on the North-South Line Phase 1, with an average of approximately 450,000 to 500,000 passengers per month.

This figure is projected to continue increasing with the operation of MRT Jakarta Phase 2A North-South Line, specifically the Bundaran HI–Monas segment, which is targeted to begin operations by the end of 2027.

The development of the multi-purpose space and new entrances is part of the preparations for the Phase 2A operations, which will eventually extend to Kota Station.

The Bundaran HI–Monas segment is targeted to be operational by the end of 2027, while the entirety of Phase 2A up to Kota is targeted for completion by the end of 2029.
