The government is accelerating the construction of educational facilities to expand access to learning in remote areas. The Sekolah Rakyat project is one of the focuses to promote equitable quality of human resources. PT PP (Persero) Tbk is undertaking the construction of the Sekolah Rakyat in Bengkulu Province together with the Ministry of Public Works, with a target completion this year. PT PP Corporate Secretary Joko Raharjo said the project faces time challenges and dispersed site conditions. Joko said that as of 23 April 2026, the project progress has reached 37.11 percent or exceeding the target with a positive deviation of 10.81 percent. “In its implementation, this project has its own challenges, especially related to the tight completion time target and the dispersed work site conditions with considerable travel distances,” said Joko in a written statement in Jakarta, Saturday (25/4/2026). This project with a contract value of Rp501.99 billion is scheduled to run for 240 calendar days starting from 10 December 2025. Joko assessed that the progress achievement shows the effectiveness of planning and field construction implementation. He explained that PT PP applies various construction innovations to maintain time efficiency as well as work quality. “This project is designed to provide representative, modern, and sustainable educational facilities for the people of Bengkulu Province,” said Joko. In addition to physical construction, this project also encourages economic activity around the site through labour absorption. Joko assessed that cross-party coordination is an important factor in keeping progress exceeding targets. “We are committed to completing the construction of the Sekolah Rakyat in Bengkulu on time while maintaining quality and work safety, as well as providing positive impacts for the community,” said Joko.
