Construction of 49 permanent housing units in West Aceh begins after Eid al-Fitr

The West Aceh Regent Tarmizi told reporters on Tuesday that the target is to complete all permanent housing units in West Aceh during 2026.

He made this statement after officially inaugurating the use of six temporary housing units for residents affected by natural disasters in Desa Lawet, Pante Ceureumen District, West Aceh Regency.

According to him, the construction of these permanent housing units is the result of collaboration with the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) and is targeted for completion within two months following Eid al-Fitr.

He stated that the construction of permanent housing units is being fully handled by the central government, following the regional government’s factual verification of house damage to residents affected by flash floods in several districts in the area.

“The West Aceh District Government hopes that after the permanent housing construction is completed, there will be no more residents living in temporary shelters, so that the economic activities of residents in this area can return to normal and truly recover,” said Tarmizi.
