Construction Begins on 240 MW Data Centre Campus in Bekasi
Princeton Digital Group (PDG) today conducted the groundbreaking ceremony for JC4, its newest 240 MW hyperscale data centre campus in Greater Jakarta. Located in the Greenland International Industrial Center (GIIC) area in Bekasi Regency, JC4 is approximately 1.7 km from PDG’s operational JC3 campus. Both sites are designed to share power and connectivity infrastructure, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and resilience.
As the utilisation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) transforms various industries and accelerates innovation, the need for high-performance digital infrastructure becomes increasingly critical, said Denny Setiawan, Director of Digital Infrastructure Strategy and Policy at the Ministry of Communication and Digital. In this context, the construction of the 240 MW JC4 hyperscale campus by PDG represents a strategic investment that further strengthens Indonesia’s readiness to enter the next era of digital transformation.
PDG recently raised approximately US$856 million in funding to expand hyperscale data centre capacity in Indonesia. The funding will support the development of the 120 MW JC3 data centre campus and reinforce Indonesia’s position as a strategic market for the data centre industry in the region. The financing includes a US$456 million syndicated facility fully guaranteed by a consortium of five international banks: DBS, HSBC, Maybank, SMBC, and Standard Chartered, with an additional approximately US$400 million financing facility still in process.
The expansion of global hyperscaler companies in Indonesia is driving demand for data centre operators capable of delivering large capacity with international standards and high construction speed. PDG already has a 400 MW data centre portfolio in Indonesia and is expanding its operational footprint through the development of the JC3 project, the launch of JC4, renewable energy investments, and the strengthening of digital connectivity. Regionally, PDG’s total portfolio has surpassed 1.8 gigawatts across seven Asian countries.
