The Constitutional Court (MK) is entering the final stage of handling the General Election Result Dispute (PHPU) Case Number 01/PHPU.PRES-XXIV/2026. The case pertains to a lawsuit regarding the educational requirements of Gibran Rakabuming Raka as a vice-presidential candidate in the 2024 Election.

Questions regarding when the Court will read the verdict have now become a focal point as the examination process enters its concluding phase. Based on Constitutional Court Regulation (PMK) Number 1 of 2026, there are specific stages and schedules for handling the 2024 Presidential and Vice-Presidential election dispute applications filed in 2026.

In the appendix of said regulation, the Constitutional Court has designated the Verdict Hearing as the stage for the pronouncement of the case decision. For cases where the examination is ongoing, the pronouncement of the verdict is scheduled to take place between 5 October and 6 October 2026.

PMK Number 1 of 2026 specifically regulates the stages, activities, and schedules for handling the 2024 Presidential and Vice-Presidential election dispute applications filed in 2026. Within the provisions regarding trial stages, the pronouncement of the verdict is listed in the Verdict Hearing agenda, scheduled for 5-6 October 2026. This regulation was established by the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court, Suhartoyo, in Jakarta on 16 September 2026.

However, PMK Number 1 of 2026 also emphasises that the established stages and schedules may undergo changes or adjustments based on the situation and conditions encountered during the handling of the application. Consequently, this schedule serves as the reference for the verdict pronouncement stage for cases undergoing continued examination, including Case Number 01/PHPU.PRES-XXIV/2026.

Prior to the verdict being read, the Deputy Chairman of the Constitutional Court, Saldi Isra, requested that all parties provide space for the constitutional judges to work and study the case without pressure from various opinions developing outside the courtroom. This was stated by Saldi during a hearing on Friday, 2 October 2026.

Saldi urged all parties not to become overly involved in the debates and opposing opinions emerging in the public sphere. He stated that the constitutional judges will independently study all case materials before reconvening to discuss and reach a decision. According to Saldi, the judges will use the weekend to read and study the case materials in their respective offices before gathering again to deliberate on the matter.
