Constitutional Court Schedules Ruling on Free Nutritious Meal Programme Lawsuit for 30 July

The Constitutional Court (MK) has scheduled the pronouncement of the verdict or decree for the lawsuit against the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme on Thursday (30/7). The trial schedule was revealed through an MK summons letter uploaded by Imam Zanatul Haeri, a private school teacher from Madrasah Aliyah Yayasan Said Aqil Siradj, via social media on Tuesday. Imam is a witness in the judicial review of Law Number 17 of 2025 concerning the 2026 Fiscal Year State Budget (APBN), specifically regarding the placement of the MBG programme within the education budget, filed by the petitioner in case number 55/PUU-XXIV/2026. The letter states that the Justices’ Deliberation Meeting (RPH) has set the verdict hearing for petition number 55/PUU-XXIV/2026 regarding the judicial review of Law Number 17 of 2025 on the 2026 State Budget. The hearing is scheduled for Thursday (30/7) at 13.30 WIB until completion. Based on a search of the official MK website, the schedule for the verdict on the MBG lawsuit petition is already listed in the trial agenda. On Thursday (30/7), the MK has scheduled verdict or decree hearings for 20 judicial review cases, including case number 55/PUU-XXIV/2026. In addition to this case, the MK will also decide on the judicial review of Law Number 17 of 2025 with case number 52/PUU-XXIV/2026 filed by Rega Felix and case number 40/PUU-XXIV/2026 filed by Sa’ed. MK spokesperson and constitutional justice Enny Nurbaningsih confirmed that the schedule for the MBG lawsuit verdict hearing is in accordance with the trial agenda listed on the MK website. The trial process previously continued with a petition revision hearing on 25 February 2026 and the hearing of statements from the House of Representatives (DPR) and the government on 11 March 2026. During that session, the DPR and the government requested a postponement of their statement delivery as they were not ready. The trial resumed on 14 April 2026 with the delivery of statements from the legal representatives of the DPR and the government. Subsequently, on 28 April 2026, the MK heard statements from related parties, namely the Cendikia Research Education Foundation (ERC) and Prof. Hesti Armiwulan. The following hearing was held on 23 June 2026 to hear expert and witness testimonies from the DPR and the government, who presented Prof. Cecep Darmawan and Dr. Oce Madril. On 1 July 2026, the MK again heard expert and witness testimonies from the government and the DPR, presenting three experts and three witnesses.
