The Constitutional Court Honorary Council (MKMK) is targeting to issue a decision on the alleged ethical violations and conflict of interest involving Constitutional Court Judge Adies Kadir this week.

MKMK Chairman I Dewa Gede Palguna said that the deliberation meeting of judges on the Adies Kadir case was held today, Wednesday, February 25, 2026. The meeting took place after the MKMK had previously heard testimony from the complainant and the reported party the previous week.

MKMK, said Palguna, is targeting to issue a decision on this case this week. “We are currently holding a deliberation meeting. I will let you know (the schedule for the hearing of the verdict). It is planned for this week,” said Palguna when contacted on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.

Although there is no set date for the verdict, Palguna ensured that the hearing on this report would be held in public in accordance with the regulations. “The procedural law stipulates this,” he said.

The nomination of Adies Kadir was reported as having ethical flaws by 21 academics and legal practitioners who are members of the Constitutional and Administrative Law Society (CALS) on Friday, February 6, 2026, a day after Adies was appointed as a Constitutional Court judge by President Prabowo Subianto.

The nomination of Adies Kadir, which was proposed by the DPR (House of Representatives), was questioned because the DPR suddenly nominated Adies at the end of January. Previously, the DPR had appointed Inosentius Samsul as a candidate for Constitutional Court judge from Senayan in mid-2025.

On February 18, 2026, the DPR summoned the MKMK to discuss the report. The DPR asked the MKMK to reject the report. However, MKMK Chairman Palguna emphasized that no one should interfere with the MKMK’s authority in handling ethical reports against Adies Kadir.

“This is not just my personal stance, but the stance of the Constitutional Court Honorary Council that as long as it concerns our authority, no institution should interfere, including the constitutional judges who appointed us,” said Palguna at the DPR Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, February 18, 2026.

Palguna stated that the MKMK could not disclose the substance of the report or the findings being handled, including the Adies Kadir report. Because if the MKMK does so, he said, the MKMK will violate the oath and procedural law of the MKMK trial.
