Consolidation in Regions Targets Increased Vote Share

United Development Party (PPP) Chairman Muhamad Mardiono is targeting the PPP’s West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) branch to break into the top two positions in the 2029 General Election. The target was conveyed during the inauguration of the PPP’s Regional Executive Board (DPW) and Branch Executive Boards (DPC) throughout NTB Province in an event themed ‘Weaving Devotion: Towards the Glory of PPP NTB’ in Mataram on Saturday (4/7). Mardiono stated that this target must be accompanied by strengthening the party structure down to the grassroots level as capital to face political party verification and the 2029 General Election. ‘If we can rise to rank one or two, that would certainly be very good. At the very least, we must go up one level. Most importantly, all electoral districts must experience an increase in votes. God willing, electoral districts that currently have no seats can be won by us later,’ said Mardiono. He explained that the consolidation in NTB was one of the fastest carried out after the Muktamar. The PPP NTB DPW has held a Regional Conference (Muswil), followed by Branch Conferences (Muscab) in all regencies and cities. According to him, the consolidation process will continue to the sub-district level through Sub-Branch Conferences (Musancab) as part of comprehensive organisational strengthening. ‘Alhamdulillah, the entire series of events has been carried out well. I express my utmost appreciation to all PPP cadres in NTB who continue to show a spirit of togetherness and commitment to growing the party,’ he said. Mardiono assessed that structural strengthening is the main foundation for increasing the PPP’s electability and vote share in the upcoming elections. He acknowledged that there is still vote potential that has not been optimally tapped. ‘We see that there are still scattered votes that are not yet optimal. This is material for evaluation so that in the future we can realise an even distribution of votes,’ he said. Through this organisational consolidation, Mardiono is optimistic that PPP NTB can improve its political position in the region while increasing its number of seats in the 2029 General Election.
