Consolidation in Regions Targets Increased Vote Share

The General Chairman of the United Development Party (PPP), Muhamad Mardiono, is targeting the PPP in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) to break into the top two positions in the 2029 General Election. This target was announced during the inauguration of the DPW and DPC PPP officials across NTB Province, held in Mataram on Saturday (4/7).

Mardiono stated that this target must be accompanied by the strengthening of party structures down to the grassroots level as capital to face political party verification and the 2029 General Election. “If we can rise to first or second place, that would be very good. At the very least, we must rise by one rank. Most importantly, all constituencies must experience an increase in votes. God willing, constituencies that currently do not hold seats can be won by us,” said Mardiono.

He explained that consolidation in NTB is one of the fastest to be implemented following the Muktamar. The NTB PPP Regional Board (DPW) has held its Regional Consultative Meeting (Muswil), followed by Branch Consultative Meetings (Muscab) in all regencies and cities.

According to him, this consolidation process will continue down to the sub-district level through Sub-branch Consultative Meetings (Musancab) as part of a comprehensive organisational strengthening.

“Alhamdulillah, the entire series of events has been carried out well. I express my deepest appreciation to all PPP cadres in NTB who continue to demonstrate a spirit of togetherness and commitment to growing the party,” he said.

Mardiono assessed that structural strengthening is the main foundation for increasing the electability and vote count of the PPP in the upcoming election. He acknowledged that there is still potential for votes that has not been optimally tapped.

“We see that there are still votes scattered and not yet optimal. This serves as material for evaluation so that in the future, we can achieve an even distribution of votes,” he said.

Through this organisational consolidation, Mardiono is optimistic that PPP NTB can improve its political position in the region while simultaneously increasing its seat count in the 2029 General Election.
