Consistent Environmental Management Earns Pupuk Kujang PROPER Green Award
PT Pupuk Kujang has successfully earned the PROPER Green award for 2025 from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry/Environmental Control Agency (KLHK/BPLH). This achievement reflects the company’s commitment to sustainable environmental management. PROPER is a government assessment and award programme through KLHK/BPLH to measure business actors’ compliance, performance, and innovation in environmental management, as well as their impact on society. The PROPER Green award was presented directly by the Minister of Environment, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, to representatives of Pupuk Kujang’s management at the awarding ceremony in Sasono Langen Budoyo, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, Jakarta, on Tuesday, 7 April 2026. “Every step towards sustainability has a story and a learning process. This achievement is a momentum for us to continue improving, strengthening environmental strategies, and delivering better impacts in the future,” Pupuk Kujang’s management wrote on its official Instagram account, quoted on Friday (24/4/2026). In addition, the PROPER Green achievement also motivates the company to evaluate itself and further strengthen environmental strategies to provide better impacts in the future. Considering that Pupuk Kujang’s journey is still long ahead to continue growing and contributing to the environment and the nation. Previously, Pupuk Kujang successfully achieved PROPER Gold in 2024. This is a manifestation of the company’s consistency in preserving the environment and implementing social innovations. In 2024, Pupuk Kujang successfully implemented various social innovations. One of them is the Kuwatan Sadesa (Kujang Cares for Forests, Prosperates Villages) programme in Banjaran Wetan Village, Banjaran Subdistrict, Bandung Regency, West Java. The education programme is aimed at improving farmers’ welfare and also encouraging increased coffee production in the West Java region, environmental conservation, and public health. The programme is a social innovation that integrates coffee plant cultivation, beekeeping, and community health education, participated in by 625 beneficiaries from several farmer groups.
