Conjoined twins still in intensive care

DENPASAR, Bali: The conjoined twins of I Gusti Ngurah Ekalaya
Kunta and Gusti Ayu Ketut Sriani are still in intensive care at
the Denpasar General Hospital.

"Both baby girls are in good health," said Dr. I Wayan
Sutarga, the head of the team treating the twins in Denpasar on
Tuesday. The twins share a heart.

He said that it was the second time the hospital had treated
conjoined twins. In mid 2002, doctors had not been able to
separate conjoined twins due to a viral infection.

This time, the twins were being treated by a team of
specialists. It was not certain whether or not the operation
would take place in Bali. -- Antara
