Congratulations, Yos

Thank God Jakarta Governor Sutiyoso has finally canceled his plan to localize gambling activities in Seribu Islands. Although his words were sharp, his statement that we all "forget" his idea on localizing gambling is one that must ideally be conveyed by a Moslem leader.

Without his knowing it, Sutiyoso has saved his governorship from having a bad ending. He has also rescued the people from legalized immoral acts. We need to thank God for Sutiyoso' consciousness, though he did that with uneasiness.

We need to thank God because Sutiyoso has been able to escape a trap that would have given his term a bad ending and would have left a legacy of immoral acts. This must be a good lesson to other government officials.

Developing the nation with the money earned from immoral acts will not give us God's blessings. Sutiyoso, there are many good ways to earn money, those which are blessed by God and appreciated by the people at large.
