Motorists coming from the south and heading to Kota mostly
pass the Harmoni area where Jl. Majapahit, Jl. Veteran and Jl.
Suryopranoto converge into Jl. Gajah Mada.

At those crossroads there are at least five traffic lights.
The traffic lights for Jl. Majapahit are located in nearly the
same direction as those for the traffic coming from Jl. Veteran.

The vehicles coming from Jl. Veteran get their turn before
those on Jl. Majapahit. The nearly same direction of the two sets
of traffic lights confuses motorists coming from Jl. Majapahit.
This is aggravated by the location of the traffic lights which
come close to Jl. Suryopranoto. The confusion may trigger a
collision between vehicles from Jl. Veteran and Jl. Majapahit.

At another spot at the crossroads at Harmoni, the U-turn
traffic sign from Jl. Hayam Wuruk to Jl. Gadjah Mada is a
handmade sign only using a marking pen. It is not visible from a
distance. Many motorists are trapped at this spot. They realize
too late that they should not have taken this lane for the U-turn
if they had wanted to traverse the crossroads. Those who can
check themselves will make the U-turn to return to the same spot.
But those who continue their way become easy prey for traffic
police. The ticketing of such "offenders" is a daily scene in the
Harmoni area.

Motorists passing the Harmoni area should beware. Traffic
wardens, on the other hand, should not take advantage of the
confusing state of the traffic signs. Please give road users
clear traffic signs and lights.
