Confused by Sutiyoso
Confused by Sutiyoso
From Rakyat Merdeka
My husband and I are simple people. Thanks to hard work and a
thrifty life, we have been able to raise three children who are
now adults and have found employment.
I am surprised that Jakarta Governor Sutiyoso does not seem
concerned about his citizens, many of whom lead pitiful lives,
especially children who have no chance to go to school due to
their parents' economic status.
I saw on television Bang Yos (Sutiyoso) committing more than
Rp 2 billion in funds to build a statue. A statue is, in my
opinion, an item we can do without. There is no urgent need for a
statue.
Another aspect of Bang Yos' administration is his
incomprehensible obsession to eradicate the "jockeys" who are
perhaps needed by the victims of the "three-in-one" policy (one
automobile must carry at least three people to enter the Central
Business District between 6:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.), while the
objectionable self-appointed traffic guides are allowed
everywhere in the city. All of this really does not make sense to
us, the little people.
