Confused About Where to Go for the Long Weekend in Jakarta, Locals Flock to Blok M

As observed by detikcom at the location on Friday, 15th May 2026, several areas in Blok M, especially those offering culinary options, are crowded with visitors. The visitors are mostly young people who come in groups with their friends.

One of the most popular spots is the food court area in front of Blok M Square. In addition, many visitors can be seen taking photos in the Blok M area.

One visitor, Rizki (24), chose to come to Blok M because he was unsure of where else to go to spend the long weekend. Furthermore, Blok M was chosen because it is easily accessible by public transport.

“I didn’t know where else to go, so I chose to come here (Blok M). I made plans with my friends to meet here,” said Rizki.

Travelling alone from the Jagakarsa area in South Jakarta, Rizki made plans with four of his friends to spend the afternoon in Blok M. He also wants to try the various foods available in Blok M.

“I just bought a coffee earlier. Now I want to try some snacks,” he said.

Aan (24) did the same, choosing Blok M because he hadn’t thought of visiting any other places for the holiday. The man from Manggarai eventually chose Blok M and plans to explore the culinary scene.

“I was planning to go out earlier, since it’s a holiday. I was confused about where to go, so I just came to Blok M. I made plans with my friends to go together on a motorbike,” said Aan.

Aan said that Blok M is quite crowded today. However, he still enjoys spending his holiday time in Blok M.

“It’s crowded, but it’s okay. I even had to queue to buy a coffee, but it wasn’t for long,” he said. (ial/aik)
