Moscow - Pakistan launched attacks on several areas in Khost and Nangarhar provinces in Afghanistan, resulting in casualties and injuries, according to Afghan media reports on Friday 27 February.

On Thursday, Afghanistan conducted military operations against Pakistani forces along the Durand Line—the border between the two countries that Afghanistan does not recognise—in retaliation for bombing by the Pakistani air force.

Pakistan subsequently responded with return fire, before eventually declaring a state of “open war” with Afghanistan.

According to reports from TOLOnews Plus, authorities in Nangarhar in eastern Afghanistan stated that Pakistan launched rocket attacks on various areas of the province. A tent camp was reported to have been struck, though there were no casualties.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s state news agency Bakhtar reported that the Pakistani military attacked several districts in Khost Province, which also borders Pakistan. Three people were reported killed and wounded in the attacks.
